Short form content is the enemy
Genocide might be the answer
I recently haven’t gotten any shifts from my catering job because of the quickening pace and frequency of the frosty winds, or you know the week and a half long streak of mistakes that I did could be it, who can really tell.
So for the past 2 and a half weeks I been left in a mire of countless plans on how to get money, bedrot, flashes of digital entertainment, a new workout plan from reddit and tissues that smell like chestnut, and out of all of those things I regret the digital entertainment the most everything else could at least be pleasurable at the minimum, but the digital entertainment is a special kind of soul killing.
And I’m not talking about the countless podcasts of the variable colours of pills, the consistent political videos of leftist screeching and rightoids deluding themselves that they didn’t vote for a treasonous convicted rapist.
No, the real issue is worst, much worst.
If you can read, you should have realized I’m talking about short form content and not just tiktok, youtube shorts can get it too. Instagram reels and twitter aren’t on the chopping block yet, but it seems they are getting closer everyday. Let me make it clear though, I am a very profuse enjoyer of the particular menu that youtube shorts and tiktok offers, especially the edits, edits might be the best way to transfer emotions to the audience.
Check out these edits and you’ll see what I’ll mean:
See what I mean?
They hit and they hit hard, I have spent hours lying in my bed replaying some of the edits saved on my phone suffering what I assume what coma patients suffer through, a slow mental death. The problem isn’t the bedrot though, I can pass those by with edibles that my neighbour gave me or the remaining mushrooms I bought for a music festival, the real problem should be something you must have notice if you don’t any of the properties these edits are derived.
The problem is the constant feed of spoilers that are beamed directly to your screen, and I’m generally fine with spoilers but the problem is when they come in bits and pieces and I now have to create a jigsaw in my brain that consists of pieces of media that I’ve never seen before.
Don’t worry you didn’t read that wrong, media that I’ve never seen before.
I’m getting blasted with not just edits but also full scenes.
FULL SCENES!!!
My head now has information of beautiful people pretending to do the jobs of normal 5/10 people, The Rookie, Tacoma FD and White Collar. I’ve never even heard of these shows before, I didn’t even know they existed until I saw the youtube shorts.
Getting spoiled for a show I’ve never watched or heard of is like ejaculating without getting hard, something that I consider the one true front to the high heavens. It shouldn’t happened.
You might say that getting spoiled in general might be the same thing but the difference is that general spoilers are like getting sent nudes. Not the same.
What’s worst is that those youtube shorts lack all the charm that edits always have, they’re so sauceless that I don’t want those shows. I’ve never seen The Penguin before but that Sofia Gigante edit both gets me and goes hard.
You think this:
Compares to this:
Not even the same, we’re comparing the aura of an office worker to Kanye West pre-antisemitism and post Ye.
This form of youtube shorts isn’t just the worst for bedrot, but it is also the most annoying kind of digital parasite that must disappear not only are they bad advertisement, it also shows their hands and it gets rid of the very valuable tradition of just sitting down and hunkering through the product of effort and love that are called TV shows. It is like being told a story form a friend’s friend versus actually being there, and for some people that is the cuck chair, and hey at least they’re happy.
But hey at least they aren’t youtube shorts of streamers trying to force their social life on me.
